Despite driving around with the new Hyundai, which may be a little strange in itself, the car didn’t come remotely close to being comfortable on the road. The steering didn’t do much to help with any of that, as well. No, the drive was awkward, and the rear wheel felt a bit like its original configuration. If it were possible that the company would have spent more time out on the road with their Corvair engine to test new technology, the problem might have been overstated.
But, maybe, to avoid the situation, Nissan could’ve avoided the problem. As many people have pointed out in the past, a high RPM driving conditions, particularly at lower power, create some of the biggest problems with high-quality automotive performance cars because they’re generally slow and the vehicle has to react to the driver.
According to Nissan, they haven’t tested a high-performance Corolla yet, but the tech would be ready for production within five years. The company has also reportedly put pressure on suppliers in China (via Nissan’s own website) as to why production of the Corolla might not be available in China.

The US-based company said in a statement on its website that the decision was driven by political factors. A Japanese newspaper reported on Saturday that Corolla, which is based in Singapore, would be the first of its kind of sedan to carry the standard American-made 5 cyl 2.0-liter V6 engine for the first time at the show venue in Nairobi. While that would not be the only car to be rolled out in Japan, Honda has confirmed it will take part in 2017 models by using a custom Toyota engine. All new vehicles will now arrive at Toyota in a standard-size sedan.
«We have decided to manufacture our first generation Corolla (and) we are now ready to sell it to the entire world,» said Yuki Shimoda, president and chief executive of Honda Japan. Honda has a total market share of over 30% and its new 5 cyl 2.0-liter 2.0-liter engine will go into production by early June 2017.
